Progress Monitoring

With the budget crisis, school budgets are shrinking. But although schools have limited resources; teachers still need to be able to identify students for additional instructional supports and monitor the effectiveness of those supports regularly, making adjustments as needed. The following is a list of tools that schools can use to monitor students' progress.

easyCBM The regular easyCBM progress monitoring assessment system is available for free, for teachers to use world-wide.The easyCBM system has been engineered to provide high quality student progress monitoring while at the same time reducing teacher workload.The math assessments available on easyCBM are based on the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Curriculum Focal Point Standards in Mathematics. In each grade, K - 8, you'll find a total of 30 progress monitoring measures: 10 aligned to each of the 3 main Focal Point standards for each grade level. However the teacher needs to create an account. After that Reading measures can be taken offline or online. Math measures can only be taken online. Security is not set very well, so you need to use pseudo names for your students to protect their privacy.

Curriculum Based Measurement for Early Literacy This site contains curriculum-based materials developed for the project (Letter Sound Fluency; Oral Reading Fluency) and includes normative data, examiner materials, and student materials.

Reading Center Progress Monitoring This site contains many resources for monitoring student progress in reading.
