Book Summaries

Today we can find an increasing number of sources with added information, questions, links, graphics, or videos to enhance comprehension. We also see audio version of books in a variety of formats that can accompany texts. These are examples of enhanced texts. Enhanced texts offers a preview of the reading material by providing a summary or visual summary, vocabulary, as well as embedded reading strategies like questions about content, breaking down complex sentences, etc. Enhanced texts help students with  learning disabilities, students who find reading challenging, students who may struggle with vocabulary or students who come from diverse cultures.
